Bach & Boogie

The Bach & Boogie Calm Dial

Got a kid in meltdown mode? Hit Start Calm Arc and let the music do the heavy lifting. In about 10 minutes we’ll move from fast and playful (Vivace) → steady and grounded (Allegro) → soft and soothing (Largo).

How to use this when the big feelings hit

  1. Press “Start Calm Arc.” It meets your child’s high energy first, then gently slows things down.
  2. Stay close. No need for words—just breathe slow or sway with the beat.
  3. Tap “Next” as they settle. Move from Vivace → Allegro → Largo. Stick with a phase longer if needed.
  4. Keep it simple. Lower lights, reduce distractions, and be ready with a hug if they reach for you.

Kids regulate best when we first match their energy, then guide them step by step into calm. This dial does that for you—through music.

What is the Bach & Boogie Dial?

Every Bach & Boogie class follows a musical arc we call the Bach & Boogie Dial. It’s our simple way to guide a room from bright engagement to joyful connection:

  • Allegro — upbeat openers that get bodies moving and attention focused
  • Largo — a calm, relaxing middle for breathing, swaying, and listening
  • Vivace — quick, playful musical stories and movement
  • B o o g i e ! — a joyful send-off

How the Calm Dial is different

The page you’re using is a special version designed for everyday life at home. When your child has lots of energy, you can flip the arc to start in Vivace (meet big energy), then settle in Allegro (steady rhythm and structure), and finally land in Largo (soft, soothing calm). It’s a small taste of the simplicity and magic we bring to families each week.
