Welcome to Bach and Boogie!

Every Saturday morning in Melrose, something magical happens. Toddlers giggle 👶, parents sing 🎶, and grandparents tap their toes 👣. Bach & Boogie is a joyful music class for kids ages 0–4 that blends classical music 🎻, hands-on instruments 🥁, and playful movement 💃—all in a welcoming, intergenerational space where everyone joins the fun.

Held at The Residence at Melrose Station, a beautiful retirement community, our classes bring little musicians and their families together with seniors to explore iconic composers, rhythms, and stories through music. It’s a heartwarming, enriching experience that sparks connection, learning, and joy.

About George

Hi, I’m George! I’m a Melrose dad, a music lover, and your guide for Saturday sessions of Bach & Boogie. My background isn’t in performance—by day I’m a software engineer and entrepreneurship coach at MIT Sloan—but I’ve always been passionate about building community and sharing music.

I grew up surrounded by music (my dad plays everything), and now I’m thrilled to bring that same spirit to this class. I especially love seeing connections spark between the kids and the seniors—it’s a reminder of just how powerful music can be.

A bit more about me:

My wife Rita is learning piano from an app—it’s never too late!
Beethoven Week is my personal favorite.
I believe every child should feel the joy of making music, no matter their age or ability.
