About the Facilitator

Hi, I'm Alex — founder of Bach & Boogie.

Music has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I started piano when I was five, studying the Suzuki method with a wonderful teacher who believed kids could learn real, beautiful music. My mom sat beside me through years of practice, and my dad would listen quietly from the couch, especially when I played Chopin.

Years later, when my daughter Shaiya was a baby, I started playing piano with her in my arms. She would bat at the keys, fascinated by the sound and motion. My wife Lexi was the one who first said, “You should start a baby music class in your own style.” That idea stuck with me.

Around the same time, I was thinking about how much elders love music too. My great-grandmother played piano into her late nineties, and my grandmother still plays in a string quartet today. It struck my wife (again) that senior communities might be a wonderful place to host these classes — and the more we thought about it, the more it made sense.

Bach & Boogie grew out of that realization. It's simply a room where babies, parents, and seniors can listen to beautiful music together — and where joy moves easily from one generation to the next.

Why We Hold Classes in Senior Communities

Bach & Boogie classes take place inside senior living communities so that young children and elders can share the joy of music together.

Toddlers bring energy and curiosity. Seniors bring warmth and life experience. The result is something special — a room filled with music, smiles, and connection across generations.

Residents are always welcome to watch, clap, dance, or simply enjoy the music alongside families.
